Hours of Operation
Schedule
Hawfields Child Care is open year round, Monday - Friday, from 6:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. It is our policy that children are not at the Center for more than 10 hours per day.
Children are expected to arrive at the Center by 9:00 a.m. If you would like for your child(ren) to eat breakfast at school, they must arrive prior to 8:30 a.m. If your child(ren) will be arriving after 9:00 a.m., we ask that you contact our Center prior to 9:00 a.m. using Brightwheel to ensure we have a correct lunch count for our kitchen.
All children must be picked up by 6:00 p.m. If a child has not been picked up by 6:00 p.m., and no contact has been made with the Center and we are unable to reach you, the child will be placed in the custody of the Alamance County Department of Social Services.
Holidays
Hawfields Child Care recognizes the following holidays:
- New Year’s Day (closing varies depending upon day of the week of New Year’s day)
- Easter
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving (closed Thursday and Friday)
- Christmas (3 days)
Teacher Workdays
Two days per year, Hawfields Child Care will be closed for Teacher Workdays. The dates of the closing for the Holidays and Teacher Workdays will be decided by the Board of Directors at the beginning of the school year for the next cycle.
Inclement Weather
In the event of a closing or opening delay due to inclement weather, or other unforeseen circumstances, that will affect travel and/or the operation of our Center, we will notify our families through Brightwheel.
If an early closing must occur once our Center is already operating, we will notify our families through Brightwheel. We are required to close our Center after 30 minutes of being without power, regardless of the cause. If you have any questions, please call our Center.
